You'll also notice that new content being written by yourself or Posts by Friends is not showing up in the Timeline but they are being shown in the News Feed.
You can temporarily view your content here by replacing the words 'PROFILE-NAME' with your Profile's name:

To permanently show your content, you have to delete any recently created Interest Lists.
Interest Lists can be accessed as the last set of items on the left hand Facebook panel.
Hover over the word 'Interests' and click 'More'
In the list that will be prompted, click on the pencil icon next to the List you wish to edit
Do this for any recently created Interest Lists. Return to your Timeline and the content will have been restored.

I just discovered that some of my posts had disappeared. I tried your advice and followed your steps but I did not have an "interest list" in a first place. All I see is subscriber icon under interest and don't see manage list. Do you mean activities and interests in the info page?
I did not make any changes except that yesterday I created 2 new albums and uploaded large # of photos and transferred some older photos to these albums. I deleted one of these albums with over 150 photos but that did not solve the problem! Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

No interests list created, so nothing to delete... Still nothing showing up on my FB timeline
